In May of 2008, I wrote a tribute song for actor/playwright, Jason Miller. On December 1st of 08, I was asked to play it at a tribute for him at the Piazza dell’ Arte on Courthouse Square in Scranton, PA. Paul Sorvino was there to unveil a Bust he created, honoring his close and long time friend. Many other well known folks were also there that day, including Chris Meyers, Federico Castelluccio, Mr.Sorvino’s son Michael, his daughter Amanda, and her daughter Claudia as well as Mayor Chris Doherty, Jason Miller’s long time sweetheart Dana Oxley, Master of Ceremonies Bob Shlesinger and many more of Jason’s good friends. If you would like more info, simply “Google” the event. Woodcleft Festival
On June 4th/05, I played at Ehrhart’s Bar on Woodcleft Ave. in Freeport NY during the “Woodcleft Festival.” Here’s a few clips at Ehrhart’s, (the sound is a bit rough, handheld camera and all): 1. “Up on the Roof,” Larry, a good friend, gave me some help in this first one: 2. “Thirsty Joe” becomes “Thirsty Rob:” 3. “Kevin Electric” with support from “Big Rob Weltner.” Due to Rob’s vulgarity J, this clip had to be heavily edited. Richie’s Street Naming
Numerous times on this website, I’ve mentioned the name “Richie Muldowney.” Richie was a New York City Firefighter who lost his life in the Twin Towers on September 11th, 2001. Back in May of 04, I had the privilege of playing Richie’s song at a ceremony for his street renaming and plaque unveiling. The street along side of Fire Headquarters in Freeport, NY is now called “FF Richard T. Muldowney, Jr. Plaza.” Someone (who still remains unknown to us, we’d love to say thanks) created a DVD and gave it to one of the firehouse members, Casey Weltner, who then gave it to me. Although it can be sad to view, it was a special day for all of us and I wanted to make it available. I’d like to mention that Richie’s song was meant to honor not just him, but all the brave people who died that day. “Yo, Richie, we never took that walk across the cuts to Mush’s house.” “We’ll get it next time around…” |
